Standup paddleboarding (SUP) is one of the fastest growing watersports in the world – it’s all about paddling and the glide – perfect on Sierra mountain lakes. This sport maximizes your newly found body awareness and biomechanical efficiency that was developed through Structural Integration.
This is an excellent way to rehabilitate after surgery.

Private instruction is dedicated to help you learn a new sport properly and not suffer stress injuries due to improper use of equipment.
Basic Training
This level will teach you the necessary skills, orientation and water safety to get you out paddling and having fun. Instruction is given on balance, stance, breathing and paddle stroke.
Paddleboard Workout Program
The intermediate level is for building strength through balance and resistance. Cardiovascular fitness increases as your paddling improves. A personal workout schedule to target specific muscle groups is developed for each client.

Designed for endurance paddling, one-on-one sprint sessions to get you lean, fit and fast with enough stamina to win a race or tour the lake.

Exercise physiologists and coaches say most people who want to improve in almost any sport do not appreciate what can be accomplished with training nor know how to do it.

SUP - Bio
I have been involved in SUP since 2007, originally inspired by the legendary waterman Laird Hamilton crossing the English Channel on a paddleboard.
Here was a sport that I can enjoy on Lake Tahoe, with a beneficial effect on my left hip. The gentle rhythm of the water, the balance, and the low impact on my joints is really invigorating, meditative and fun.
I soon realized that SUP is an excellent movement education tool for my clients going through the Structural Integration process. The balance, proper use of breath and motor coordination skills is a healthy way to utilize new-found body awareness.
So inspired by this new sport, my wife and I took part in races on Lake Tahoe, and trained and successfully completed the 1st circumnavigation of Lake Tahoe – our own 6 day event to paddle around the lake, raising awareness for the environment and the Washoe Tribe’s Cultural Language Program.
We also tried SUP surfing in Cornwall, England, and I took part in the 1st Rainbow Sandal’s “Battle of the Paddle” at Doheny State Beach , Dana Point, California.
Using my SUP race participation and distance paddling experiences, I offer SUP personal training that is grounded in my anatomical and movement education knowledge.
