Movement Education
To increase the effectiveness of the bodywork, movement education will help you to let go of old habitual movement patterns. These patterns could have started during your developmental years, as compensation from an injury, or quite often as a combination of many layers within your structure.
The way you stand, walk, take a breath or sit at a desk will be reviewed as possible factors that could be improved.
Breath – We all know how to breathe…or do we? Does our breath fully enter all of our lungs or is it stuck in our upper chest, thus causing anxiety and/or cardiovascular inefficiency?
Posture – Does the way we stand fully support our structure or is it a major contributor to back pain?
Biomechanical efficiency is enhanced as you learn to move and breathe in new ways.
Improving Athletic Performance
The body is more aligned, each muscle group more balanced with an increased capacity for oxygen intake as a result of Structural Integration.
When training and taking part in your chosen sport there will be a greater reserve of energy available because the body is moving more efficiently.
Training core stability, core strength, motion skills and cardiovascular fitness are all vital to improved performance.
Natural flowing movement is encouraged where you are taught to move more intrinsically; your motor coordination skills are engaged. Working on any deficiencies will help you achieve more and be less prone to injury.
The sessions are designed to meet your specific goals whether it is to enhance an everyday activity, for injury rehabilitation or to become a better athlete.
